Dr. Sylvia and Dr. Chris founded Schuchart Dentistry with a simple goal in mind. They wanted to provide truly top-notch dental care to residents of San Antonio, and give back to the communities that raised them. We believe that dentistry is personal, and that patients can get better care from independent dentists than large corporate chains and franchises.
In the spirit of this, we’re a 100% dentist-owned, independent practice, unlike many of the other dentists in the San Antonio community. That means that Dr. Sylvia and Dr. Chris answer to nobody but themselves. Our motivation is not to maximize profits. Instead, we provide top-notch dental care and build amazing dental relationships that last a lifetime.

Dr. Chris grew up in the rural town of Jourdanton, Texas, about an hour south of San Antonio. Growing up, he always had a good experience at his family dentist and wanted to be able to provide the same service to his friends and family. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University (Gig ‘Em Aggies!), he attended the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in May of 2018.
Dr. Sylvia is a Texas native and calls San Antonio her home. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, from The University of Texas at San Antonio Honors College and was able to finish her undergraduate education in three years. She then went on to receive her Dental Degree, from the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry and has had the deepest passion for delivering first-class dental care ever since.
Dr. Chris and Dr. Sylvia fell in love with teeth and each other in dental school (romantic right?!). Together, they made a pledge to always keep up with the latest advances in dentistry by being active participants in world-renowned continuing education courses. Dr. Chris and Dr. Sylvia have undergone substantial training in Cosmetic Dentistry, Invisalign, and Implant Dentistry. They are both Kois trained dentists and are two of the top GP Invisalign providers in San Antonio, reaching Platinum Invisalign status in 2020.
Outside their dental office, you can probably find them down at the coast fishing, playing golf, or trying all the new restaurant's San Antonio has to offer! They have a beautiful baby girl, named Journey, that keeps them on their toes, and the spunkiest German Shorthaired Pointer, named Prairie, that loves to dove hunt. They both love the outdoors, health and fitness, and watching Texas sunsets.

At your first visit, you’ll check in digitally with our front office team. Then, you can relax in our comfortable, modern waiting area. Enjoy a beverage or browse our selection of home care products. Your kids can relax in our child-friendly play area.
Once it’s time for your appointment, you’ll go back to one of our clean, spacious operatories. Your hygienist will take x-rays, clean your teeth, and prepare you for your oral exam. Then, Dr. Chris or Dr. Sylvia will come in, greet you, and learn a little more about you. Then, you’ll get a comprehensive oral exam to check for any potential oral health issues.
After your appointment is over, Dr. Sylvia or Dr. Chris will discuss their findings with you, as well as any recommended next steps. Then, you’ll be done! Stop by our front office to schedule your follow-ups, then enjoy your healthy smile.
We want your visit to be comfortable, simple, and effortless! We offer digital check-ins to speed up the intake process. While you wait for your appointment in our sleek, contemporary waiting room, you’re free to enjoy a complimentary beverage or a locally-baked treat (made with xylitol)! Kids can enjoy our play area, and you can also stock up on the tooth care essentials you need at our home care products station.
Once it’s time for your appointment, you’ll sit back in our comfortable dental chairs. We have TVs in our operatories for your entertainment, and offer warm towels, too. Dr. Sylvia, Dr. Chris, and our team are dedicated to your comfort. If there’s anything we can do to make your experience better, don’t hesitate to ask!
We use digital x-rays to look below the surface and spot hidden dental issues. One of our other tools is an iTero digital scanner. This allows Dr. Chris and Dr. Sylvia to capture 3D images of your teeth without goopy, putty-based dental impressions. Not only is this faster and more effective, but it’s more comfortable for patients, too!
Dr. Sylvia and Dr. Chris are involved with several local charities that offer free dental work for those in need. They have worked with Texas Mission of Mercy and Haven For Hope, and are always looking for new ways to serve and give back to the San Antonio community.
